Authentic Stories from Diners
Found this place on Google and love it. Our waitress was Lilly and she was so friendly, helpful and attentive. The restaurant was down a lane, with a nice atmosphere and great music playing softly in the background. There was a good selection of local Vietnamese food and all our dishes were excellent. Def would come back and recommend to everyone. 🥰
Okay, this is the first review I have done where 5 stars is just not enough. This is an incredible achievement in cuisine. If this place is not BG rated yet the Michelin folks have no clue. I mean maybe we got lucky, but we ordered 4 dishes and each one was, not joking, the absolute best version of that plate I have ever tried. Now, I don't live in Vietnam, but I do live in California where there is no shortage of Vietnamese cuisine, so I have tried literally dozens and dozens of restaurants, including fancy/$$$$ places in SF, LA and OC. This place produces what is easily the best Vietnamese cuisine I have ever eaten. The tofu with salted egg was especially perfect. We've tried this dish in many restaurants and this was by far the best execution. We also tried a new dish, a pomelo based chicken salad that was absolutely fantastic, almost taste similar to a ceviche when dressed with the nước chấm. Our server was Darius, he went above and beyond to help and explain the menu and meal. I can not write strong enough words to recommend this, it is an absolute must try spot.
This place really does feel like a hidden little spot — easy to miss, but worth finding. The food was genuinely good. Everything tasted fresh, flavorful, and well-prepared. You can tell they care about presentation and quality, not just throwing dishes together for tourists. It is a bit on the pricier side compared to other local Vietnamese restaurants, but the portions and overall experience make up for it. It feels a little more polished and comfortable, especially if you want a sit-down meal without the street chaos. Not the cheapest, but definitely a solid choice if you want good Vietnamese food in a more relaxed setting. Would come back when I’m craving something familiar and done well.
It was our first time in Vietnam and we were searching for a restaurant where we can taste and experience Vietnamese cuisine at its finest. This restaurant piqued our interest since it’s just nearby and the reviews are great. The restaurant is literally a hidden gem since you have to enter an alley then turn left to the back of an apartment complex. The place felt so cozy and the vibe felt like home. The staff were very accommodating especially Lily who patiently and enthusiastically assisted us throughout our stay in the place. We blindly ordered the usual Vietnamese Pho, Bun Cha, and the Vietnamese Pancake without knowing how to properly consume them in the usual manner, that’s why we are very thankful for Lily who is readily there to teach us about the food and how we can enjoy it the Vietnamese way. The food was really delicious and very worth it! I highly recommend this place 🫶
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Outstanding Experience at Taste of Saigon – Thanks to Lily! We had a truly wonderful experience at Taste of Saigon, and a big part of that was thanks to Lily. The food was absolutely amazing — honestly beyond our expectations. We often try Vietnamese food in Munich, but this was on another level: authentic, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. The spice levels were just right, and every dish tasted fresh and delicious. Our taste buds were genuinely happy! Lily was super helpful, warm, and attentive throughout our visit. She even took the time to teach us how to make Vietnamese rolls, and I was proud to successfully make one myself 😊 That small personal touch made the experience extra special. Thank you, Lily, for making our time here so memorable. We had a lovely time and will definitely be back when in HCMC.
