Authentic Stories from Diners
Ordered several foods and all were good. But the rice noodle was just fine. Deducted a star from the service because I had to pay three different bills moving around three different restaurants next to each other.😅 It would be better if they could find a way to sum up the bill and have customers pay at once.
Very delicious banh xeo and com tam. They are the must order when you visit. It's recommended you book ahead to get a table. The service is friendly and the price is slightly more expensive compared to similar restaurants. I guess for a Michelin guide restaurant, the price is justifiable.
Bếp Me Ỉn is such a delightful gem that instantly makes you feel at home. From the moment you step in, the cozy atmosphere and warm hospitality set the tone for a comforting dining experience. The space is simple yet charming, with a homely vibe that makes it perfect for casual meals with family and friends. The food truly steals the spotlight. Every dish tastes like it was prepared with love and care, just like a hearty home-cooked meal. The flavors are well-balanced, authentic, and deeply satisfying. Whether you’re craving something savory, rich, or light and refreshing, Bếp Me Ỉn delivers beautifully crafted Vietnamese dishes that feel both nostalgic and comforting. The ingredients taste fresh, and you can tell that quality is a priority in every plate served. Service is attentive and friendly without being intrusive. The staff are welcoming, patient, and always ready to recommend their signature dishes. Prices are also very reasonable for the portion sizes and quality offered. Overall, Bếp Me Ỉn is a wonderful place to enjoy authentic Vietnamese cuisine in a warm and inviting setting. It’s definitely somewhere you’ll want to return to again and again.
I genuinely don’t understand how Bep Me In on Lê Thánh Tôn Street earned Michelin recognition. If this is the benchmark, then there must be hundreds of restaurants across Ho Chi Minh City that deserve it far more. The Chả Giò Tôm Thịt was shockingly bad. We managed to eat only about 50% before giving up. It lacked flavor, balance, and any real satisfaction — something you can easily find at a random neighborhood eatery done much better. The Cá Hú Kho Tộ was slightly more acceptable, but still mediocre at best. Honestly, I can find a version that tastes better at half the price without trying very hard. The biggest disappointment was the Bún Chả Mẹ In. The meat was bland and forgettable, and the fish sauce — which should be the soul of the dish — failed to elevate anything. For a restaurant carrying Michelin recognition, serving tasteless grilled meat is quite astonishing. Overall, this experience felt more like paying for a label than paying for quality. In a city full of incredible Vietnamese food, this was a very surprising letdown.
This place is a great operation. There are multiple places to sit and they are very efficient in getting you in. We ordered the recommended dishes. We did order the steak omelette however they did bring us the wrong one with just mushrooms, but it was delicious so I really wasn’t complaining. There was so much flavor. We’ve had a lot of these around, but this one was my favorite. We also ordered the recommended shrimp fried rice. I think I would pass on that dish and get something else. I enjoyed it enough that I suggested we go back the next day which we didn’t, but that is a good sign.
